Souvenirs is a rock band whose newest record, “You, Fear, and Me,” is a gloomy release reflecting the band’s youthful obsession with classic emo bands like Pavement, Knapsack, and Braid. Tim Riley’s somber vocal cadence and interpersonal lyricism leads the band’s chunky guitar playing into heavy breakdowns. While mostly reserved, sweet choruses spiral up to crunchy sections that are fitting for a hardcore tour. They’re signed to Other People records, a label started by Stray from the Path’s guitar player and founding member, Thomas Williams. It’s a small label that focuses on stylistic freedom, sporting a roster of all genres. Souvenirs has gone on multiple punk and hardcore tours with the label, performing with bands like the Story So Far, Four Year Strong, and Terror.
